1. "live in chicago" is thee best live blues album ever
you can just listen to his joy of playing again in chicago. i remember listening to this concert on the radio and i thought they had to release this on an album. i saw him play at a bar in madison, wisconsin and another time at the dane county center in the late 60`s early 70`s.

2. ...and he was dying of cancer during those concerts.
That album is a 2-CD life lesson in "not going gentle." We all need to deal with our own circumstances, but every time I play that CD I realize that this is the sound of a dying man who STILL left patches of scorched Earth wherever we walked.

The four Alligator albums...the final four of his lifetime...Soul Fixin' Man, Blue Streak, Reckless and Live In Chicago...are ESSENTIAL listening for anyone with even a passing interest in the blues.
