My grandmother died last night
At about 4 am. We all knew it was bound to happen eventually. She had had Alzheimer's for about the last 10 years, so I have very few memories of her in a healthy state of mind. She couldn't even remember our names. She had been really bad for about a week, and last night she finally passed. She had had a feeding tube in, but they took it out last week because she wasn't tolerating it anymore. I was able to visit her on Sunday and on Tuesday. It is about a 45 minute drive from our house to hers. We got back at around 11 pm, and at 1 am my parents got a call from my Uncle saying that she was in a bad way, so they went back out there. My parents, my Uncle and my Aunt were with her at her bedside. Although it hurts that she's gone, I am glad that she is no longer suffering. It will be hard staying strong for my mom. She was the only grandma I ever really knew, my dad's mom passed away when I was 10 months old.

R.I.P. Janice 12/31/1937 - 11/18/2009
