"Ninja" Impaled On Fence In Seattle After Failed Leap
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 09:25 PM by AsahinaKimi

SEATTLE — Seattle police say a man who thought he was ninja was impaled on a metal fence when he tried to leap over it. An officer who was looking for an assault victim nearby Monday night heard the man screaming for help. Police supported him to prevent further injuries until medics arrived and took him to a hospital, where he was in serious condition in intensive care on Tuesday.

Police spokeswoman Renee Witt wrote in a department Web site posting that officers thought the man might have been involved in the reported assault, but he insisted he was just a ninja trying to clear a 4- to 5-foot-tall fence.

Witt says the man was "overconfident in his abilities," and that alcohol likely played a role.

His name was not released.

I bet he was a Caucasian Ninja wannabe that had watch too many Sho Kosugi films.

I keep thinking back to the film Samurai Fiction with the old Ninja.

3. Hmmm. He must not be a real ninja, or else this would violate the Inverse Ninja Law.

Inverse Ninja Law

The Inverse Ninja Law (by analogy to inverse-square law), is a similar phenomenon that occurs frequently in martial arts movies, anime, and role playing games. It is also sometimes called the Anime Ninja Effect or the Rule of One.

The Inverse Ninja Law states that the effectiveness of a group of ninjas is inversely proportional to the number of ninjas in the group. While a single enemy ninja is often portrayed as a significant threat to the protagonists, a large group of ninjas is significantly less of a threat, and as such is easily defeated. This is sometimes applicable to other close combat oriented minions as well.

It is a corollary of the Law of Conservation of Ninjutsu.

OBVIOUSLY the guy in the OP wasn't a real ninja, because if he were a real ninja, this could have only happened if he were in a group of 100 or more ninjas. A real ninja, alone, would have been able to pass through the fence like smoke.

4. Well, folks, you see there's ninjas, and then there's ninjas. This
fence impalement happens a lot here and there where people try to climb these fences with sharp protrusions at the top (meant to keep people from climbing them).
