1. Chrome was designed primarily as a data collection system.
It acts like a browser, but the entire purpose is to collect and sell data. This isn't a secret. It is clearly stated in the license agreement and was documented in most of the pre-release press announcements.

14. Google, right? "Do no evil" slogan as I recall...
I hate to say it, but I may as well go to Bing. Google is really become sleazy.

5. Explorer, nowadays. I switch back and forth with Firefox. Right now I hate them.
I can't get the plug-ins to load half the time, and keep running into quirks I have to search for solutions on. So I use Explorer.

I'm sure Explorer will piss me off soon enough and make me switch back, though.

I use Chrome now and then, but don't see anything special about it. Except that once it saved my computer. I had some trojan that blocked all of my web browsers, except Chrome. I used to Chrome to fix it. :)

8. I liked IE, but switched to Chrome, which I liked, but it made me vulnerable to viruses, so I'm
going to switch back to IE for a while. The virus problem NEVER came up using that.

15. I had not heard anything about Chrome being any more vulnerable to viruses
than any of the other offerings. What sort of problems did you have?

16. My access to the Internet slowed to a crawl or stopped. The normal anti-virus
tools did not stop it. I ended up buying something called www.prevx.com It was easy to load and blocks the beast.

I read later that there was a virus that was affecting specifically Chrome users with Windows.

It's my first experience with something like this, so I'm not too good at describing it. But, I got the 'blue screen of death' at one point. Things went downhill from there until I got the prevx.

One thing you can say about IE is they have regular updates about viruses.

12. Two reasons
it's the middle ground between IE's great compatibility and Chrome's terrific speed. Plus there are tons of free add-ons you can get for Firefox that do all sorts of neat tricks like download Youtube videos.
