Yours and one other one.

I'd actually merge the Great Lakes and Northeastern states into Michigan, and make the Plains states, Rocky Mountain states, Washington, and Oregon into Colorado, where my aunt lives.

Buh-bye Confederacy; you become a new country.

Give California, New Mexico, Arizona, and maybe Texas back to Mexico. Or, make Texas into a new country: The Free Republic of Texas.

3. The original 13 colonies.
Get rid of all the others.

I live in Illinois, which with Wisconsin would become part of Canada. I wouldn't mind that. :-)

6. Get rid of 48, not 37.
Or are you going to merge them into two?

8. Merge PA, New York and New England
Merge the west cost states. The rest are mostly red states so they can have their own country with chimpy as president. I would keep the military and nuclear weapons.

9. How exactly would you merge Washington and Oregon with Colorado...
Edited on Sat Mar-20-04 12:47 PM by AntiCoup2k
..without also merging Idaho and Utah into the mix?

As for my answer, I'd go with the Cascadia option for one state and combine Southern California and Arizona into another.

http://zapatopi.net/cascadia.html

Actually, make that a modified Cascadia, with the Rockies being the Eastern border. Which means we get the Idaho panhandle, once we evict all the NeoNazi assholes and send them to Crawford TX where they can live with their leader.

19. Don't forget the coffee and microbrews!
Coffee's world famous - though I can't stand StarFucks personally, and there's no better selection of microbreweries in any area of the country than Washington & Oregon. And BC's got the real hard cider which ain't so bad either (not that nasty ass shit like they have this side of the border which is just a glorified wine cooler.

23. I would keep Vermont because it is one hell of a progressive state
and Alaska because of its beauty and because large chunks of it have not been developed.
