Good morning Lounge
How are you today?

I had a nice long weekend with my brother at a comic convention (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosaik)

Today it is back to work x( But the week will be kinda short. Wednesday and Thursday I am going to a training about a new pay scale, which will be starting in January. Since I am a member of the workers council, I am attending the training.
So this week you won't see much of me :(

Picture of the Day (me and my brother at the convention on Saturday)

1. Good Morning MissHoneychurch!
Oh it can't be that early (late) already?! I better get to bed soon...

So, were you two selling or buying or what? I've never been to any of the big comic cons, just one or two of the local ones. Do you collect comics? :hi:

2. Good morning kentauros
:hi:  :loveya:

It is 11am here (already???).

The comic in question is a comic from East Germany (see the link I posted). I am not much of a big comic fan myself. I do read some comics, but not many. The Mosaik is one of them. The others are Calvin and Hobbes, FoxTrot, Asterix and Obelix. My brother more than me is a lot into the Mosaik. But I enjoy it to. He is a member of a comic forum and a version of Wikipedia for the Mosaik. So what we did at the convention was showing the "Mosapedia" and also buying stuff from sellers. My brother mainly background informations and fanzines, me some Mosaik comics I am not owing yet.
I hope I kinda explained it in a way that is understandable :)

3. You explained it quite well
:D

I'll have to look over the wiki link in more detail later. I do like many of the European comics (thanks to the publication of Metal Hurlant over here) but I have to read translations. I would love to find the works of Pierre Seron, translated or not ;)

Enjoy the rest of your morning, and soon-to-come lunchtime

I admit I haven't heard of Pierre Seron. :hide: But as said, I am not really that much into comics. I still think Calvin and Hobbes is the olymp of the comic world :)

4. Hi MissHoneychurch!
I'm doing pretty well, just slightly more incapable of getting off the computer than usual today. I'm baking and I should be cleaning, since my cleaning lady has been sick for a week. Instead I'm hanging out on the computer wasting time!

9. Pumpkin bread for a bake sale
I've been making it a lot lately, and I today I used the favorite of my recipes. I just had a bite of the bread, and it turned out well.

I hate cleaning about as much as I love cooking, which is quite a bit!

Very tragic story there. Sports media here doesn't often report on events outside the US unless it is golf, tennis, or World Cup Soccer, Olympics as well. International athletes such as David Beckham and Roger Federer are well known inside the US as well.

About Sports what I can tell you is my avatar won yesterday to improve to 6-3 on the season with 7 games left to play. :hi:

I have the feeling that soccer gets more and more attention in the U.S. I mean it is a sport that is played all over the world. Not like Baseball :hide:

Congrats to your team!!!

22. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world
I enjoy playing it but as someone who played football and basketball as well as PT in the Army most of my life I don't have the conditioning to last long in a Soccer game. I think it's like running, you got to pace yourself but at first I'm running full speed from side to the other on a large field trying to make plays but after awhile I end up staying on defense(I'm bad on offense anyways) til I'm able to go back and forth.

I'm not that interested in baseball, I'll watch the Rockies but that's mostly it. I tried out for the baseball team in high school while I could play outfield as well as anyone(it's like playing receiver in football, you're an athlete til the ball gets to you then you gotta catch it) but I was horrible as a batter with an even worse swing so that didn't work out. :)

18. Good morning MissH!
It must have been fun working with your brother at the comic convention. I myself am not into comics, although like you, I enjoy Calvin and Hobbs. I think there's a little Calvin in all of us.

Another short week? Doesn't that make three in a row? ;) How nice though. All work weeks should be short.

Pay scale training sounds fun. Where I work, no pay scale training is needed. They just cry "budget, economy", and put a freeze on pay hikes. Curious to see if they'll do it this next time around.
