Just got back from 2012
If you like disaster movies you'll love 2012. Makes the Poseidon adventure look like a sprained ankle. There was some pretty stupid stuff like, who knew a twin engine Cessna could fly from L.A to Yellowstone on one tank of gas. Also, Looks like the next two years are really going to age Obama but all and all, my wife and I really enjoyed it.

This is one movie that you really want to see on the big screen with the zillion dollar sound system. Not going to play as well on your 19" Zenith.

I give it a solid 9 for the genre.

1. A Cessna 340 has a 1600 mile range
which would be almost enough to make a round trip.

I'm looking forward to seeing it.

6. Well, 30 to 36 gallons per hour sounds like my Ford F250
And no way it makes it past Yosemite without a re-fill

4. I watched it last night
...at the bad place. It was fun. Who knew John Cusack would be so perfect as a disaster movie hero? And Chiwetel Ejiofor...sigh.

15. hey LynneSin
i was just reading your thread about wondering what old movie characters are doing today. I was thinking of telling you that Lloyd Dobler is currently starring in the action-packed movie 2012. but wait, that's john. ;)

I feel the same about Lloyd and I'm a huge Cusack fan. I can't wait to see 2012. I don't care about the dialogue, he's got a great voice and could read menus and I'd be riveted.

8. I love (natural) disaster movies, so I thoroughly enjoyed it.
There was absolutely no religious dogma attached, either. Lots of plot holes (for example, how does a pilot with only a few lessons fly like a Top Gun?) but you don't really notice them until you're leaving the theater. Woody Harrelson was a riot.

11. I have some real bad news
I just checked my State Farm calendar, and IT ENDS AT DECEMBER 31, 2009. Nothing on the next page. So, that must mean the world ends then. The good news is I won't have to pay the Christmas credit card bills.
