Sunday football thread
I'm watching the Detroit Lions/Vikings game.
Vikings defense is just chewing up Detroit, which is to be expected.

Packers/Dallas game later, to see "America's Team" (har har) get run over by the Packers would be sweet.

1. Rams giving New Orleans a hard time
Edited on Sun Nov-15-09 03:24 PM by JonLP24
New Orleans just increased their lead 28-17 and should continue on that pace.

Bengals 12, Steelers 9 14:40 left with the Steelers in the red zone.

3. Good game
Looks like kicks could be the difference. Graham has a missed a FG and after the touchdown the messed up the hold. However Cincinnati is running out the clock but need a TD to make it a two score game.

Carson Palmer looks fantastic. Is there anyone playing quarterback right now who hasn't been coached by Pete Carrol?

were coached by someone other than Pete Carroll.

edit: So, too, was Brett Favre.

7. The two teams that I was so sure would win but didn't pick them
was Tennessee and Jacksonville. However I wanted the Jets and the Bills to win so I lost on those picks :(

11. As a Packer fan, I have to ask
Do you feel that Thompson and McCarthy need to be fired? I do and it has nothing to do with the Favre (hillbilly) debacle. It has everything to do with the fact that if they miss the playoffs this year, which looks likely, it will four out of the last five years that this has happened. And it also has to do with the fact that the Packers lead the league in sacks allowed and penalties. Neither is a good thing.

12. WOW, did you get your wish -Packers shut out the 'Boys, while my Eagles
gave away another game with almost 100 yards in penalties, missed passes and poor clock handling.

Thankfully, Dallas lost too, so the Eagles are still in second place in the NFC East.

I'm hoping the Eagles can beat the Bears next week, or I guess they are done for this season already.

however, McNabb, 450 yds passing....dayum.

26. ...and 100 yards in penalties? That's a gift if I ever saw one - Birds
had a touchdown run recalled by a penalty last week - would have won the game for them but for a called holding penalty.

They are playinbg very sloppy ball, don't show much aggression the since they beat the Giants.

21. I can understand the thinking
Get a first down then you can run out the clock, game won.

Not saying I agree with it(I don't), but that I understand it.

23. Yeah but not on your own 28 yard line.
Belichick tells his own defense YOU SUCK, I DON'T TRUST YOU IF WE PUNT! A guy can fumble, Peyton could throw an INT, you could sack him:grr:

22. His defense was gassed. He probably thought it was his best chance...
...and looking at the outcome, he was probably right.

24. But if the defense was gassed (they were), not making the first
guaranteed a TD by the Colts. Indy had momentum at that point, no way they weren't going in from the 29 with over a minute left.

Plus, from a team morale standpoint, that call sends a horrible message.
