12 Angry Men
Why don't they make movies like that anymore? No special effects, no expensive anything. I love that movie.

1. Great movie. Holds up 50 years after it was made.
Great screenplay, terrific cast of fine actors under the direction of Sidney Lumet. One of those films that can be watched and enjoyed time after time after time.

There's a Russian version based on the same film. Looks good. It's in my Netflix queue.

Here's the trailer.

5. That's a fabulous movie. The remake isn't bad either.
I've seen both. Original is my fave, but as I said, the remake isn't bad.

9. true, I think the last jury my dh picked had 8 woman on it.
Honestly, I never even thought about the fact there weren't any women on it. Just a wonderful movie.

10. One of my all-time favorite movies
Lone liberal (Henry Fonda), using facts & reason to slowly defeat bigotry, hatred & close-mindedness.

14. Great film
I played Jack Klugman's character in a high school production of the play, though we had to retitle it "Twelve Angry Jurors" since a couple girls were in the cast.

18. What I loved was the way the jurors were real life type charaters
who sweated and stammered etc.I could almost feel the sultry air before the storm, thinking how cranky and on edge it makes a person.

19. That was in large part the great direction of Sidney Lumet.
In his book, "Making Movies", Lumet shows how the early part of the film was shot in wide angle (showing most of the room) and then by use of more and more close-ups the room seems to be closing in on them.
