3. I got roped into being a floor marshall for the building I work in.

So the other day we have this class where a disaster preparedness instructor explains how we are supposed to evacuate the building in case of a fire and so forth. Well, after he gets done with the class, he goes into this long tirade about how there is a major earthquake due here in the Bay Area ANY FREAKIN'DAY, and that we'll all be trapped in the building for 5 to 7 days with no emergency service support, and we won't be able to go home because all the bridges will have collapsed. After he finished his rant (slightly out of breath) I raised my hand. "Yes?" he says. "I only live about half a mile from the office" says I, "is it okay if I walk home?"

The meeting was adjourned.

That is unless you're of the rapture-ready crowd. They don't want to die. They wanna come home one day after work and walk to the pearly gates just like they're going to the easy chair.
