WHY is purchasing air travel such a pain in the ass?
Edited on Sat Nov-14-09 09:28 PM by Initech
Seriously, I went to go book a flight - after filling out credit card information and pushing the "book flight" button - they told me I couldn't book it because that fare had already been sold! :argh: :banghead:

1. Because air travel in general is a pain in the ass.
Everything that has to do with it, therefore, must also be a pain in the ass. QED.

2. I use KAYAK to find the flights...
Then usually the specific airline's page to book and buy it.

http://www.kayak.com/

But yes, what a pain in the ass if you aren't quick.

Good luck and maybe you'll get an even better flight than the one you missed.

Sorry.

4. Call the phone number... explain exactly what happened...
many times the fare can be found (in other words, honored). It's worth a try.

Hang in there.

9. I flew a month ago, and a week ago
and I will fly this week.

I haven't had to bend over and cough yet.:)

But I'll keep you posted...

6. You get to go somewhere and you complain. And we who sit here
and don't get to go anywhere are supposed to feel ...
What.

7. I'm not the one going anywhere.
I'm trying to get a fare for my brother to come out to LA but it's just such a pain in the ass it's not funny.

10. I've seen fares jump over 1 1/2 hours--do the research, check with hubby, go to book
and the fare has gone up!

It seems that now you have to talk about flight times, know what you want to do before you get on the computer so that if you find a fare you book it immediately.
