Missing Persons singer jailed for animal cruelty

OSSIPEE – Dale Bozzio, 54, lead singer from the '80s band Missing Persons and a former Playboy bunny, began serving a 30-day sentence at the Carroll County Jail Thursday on an animal cruelty charge.

She was arrested in October 2008 after authorities found sick and dead cats at her West Ossipee home, a dozen of which were later euthanized by the Lakes Region Humane Society.

Bozzio had argued that she had left the cats in the care of a friend who never showed up.

Bozzio was convicted of one count of animal cruelty, with 11 of the other charges dismissed at a trial in Southern Carroll County District Court in March.

On May 21 she was sentenced to 90 days in jail, 60 of them deferred for two years, according to Steve Murray of the Carroll County Attorney's Office. Bozzio was also ordered to pay $2,700 for euthanization of the 12 cats and ordered to complete 250 hours of community service and serve 90 days in jail, 60 deferred for two years. She was also ordered not to keep domestic animals on her property.

actually i think the lady got fucked, i knew this couple where they went to south africa and the service was gonna come in and feed their kittehs and all but...oh holy fuckshit, the service "forgot" and they came back the kittehs had not been fed or watered

it was a miracle their animals survived, they think if the trip was one day longer, say their plane had been delayed, their cats would have died -- as it was, it's clear the cats had nothing to drink except toilet water and nothing to eat except the first day's food

this harmless couple would have been guilty of exactly of what this lady was guilty of, the inability to be in two places at one time

how many times have you hired a friend or a service to pet sit your cats?

you want to go to jail and be called a fucking sadist because of someone else's mistake?

she says she hired someone, they didn't show, and the cats starved, and i believe her, because nothing else makes sense

cats are cheap to feed and water, and be serious, what pleasure is to be had from depriving them?

she trusted the wrong person and that person 1) starved her cats and 2) tipped the police that no one was feeding the cats (because he was supposed to be doing it) -- this is a "friend" who seriously hated her and gutted her (in my humble opinion)

i've known sociopaths and sadists, and i think the person who was hired to feed the pets yet somehow didn't show AND somehow the police were told she was out of town...that person is the sociopath

i'm sorry to say that i've known too many sociopaths and pro con artists too well, this lady walked into a rotating helicopter blade, she never had a chance

Missing Persons and the OP giving an account of animal cruelty....I expressed what some people here mistake for "dismay" as an evil, thoughtless act towards an animal.

Please note...my initial response was a humorous one, shaken at the fact that this is a washed-up 80's band...and nothing more. I recognize that...I certainly hope you do, too

all i see is that someone who truly hated this lady wormed his/her way into her life, said "i'll take care of your cats while you're on vacation honey" and totally fucked her to make sure she'd go to jail and have her life ruined
