I have a really bad chest cold!
*cough*

*hack*

*throat aches*

:grr: I hate spring colds!

And every year it happens like clockwork. I mean I can depend on it like my period! Except this year, everything's in my chest. And my throat is raw.

Got any good cold remedies? And I need a hug!

1. (((((((((((((((((Supernova))))))))))))))))))
That's your hug. Now get to bed, drink lots of fluids, eat light, and get lots of rest. There's only one way to get rid of a cold. (Serioiusly, drinking lots of fluids will make your copious phlegm less thick.)

If it turns into bronchitis, see your doctor right away instead of putting it off.

And here's another hug: ((((((((((((((Supernova)))))))))))))))

4. Thanks pagerbear

If I felt well, I'd be looking to go to Fayetteville today.

3. I've had one, too, and hate to tell you for how long.
Thing is that I have not had a head cold, much less bronchitis and laryngitis for more than two years -- and it hit me really hard.

People kept recommending chicken soup to me, though no one actually offered to make any for me.

My sympathies. Hope you feel better soon.

6. Chicken soup
is very good. It has antibiotic and decongestant properties. And I agree with you; it tastes so much better when someone else makes it. LOL!

I miss the Jewish attending physician I used to work for. He made a mean chicken soup! ;-) I'm trying Cold-Eze. See if that helps.

Hope you feel better soon, greatauntoftriplets.

7. Tea couldn't hurt.

With or without honey and/or lemon, it is good however you want it.

8. What did Mom do
when you were young? Mine, Vicks Vapo rub on the chest, colw vapor steamer in the room. Lots of liquids, rest , chicken soup or broth won't hurt. Throat? Gargle with luke warm water, a bit of salt in it, every hour or two. No BIG cigars! Now, lets get you tucked in.

9. Vit C, aspirin, and Green Tea
Edited on Sat Mar-20-04 10:26 AM by dweller
chewable VC, taken like clockwork (about every time you pee which is when you are getting rid of the extra intake). Eventually your body will absorb the extra amounts. Aspirin, in normal prescribed amounts, boosts the efficacy of Vc, and conversly, Vc boosts the analgesic properties of aspirin.
Green Tea to wash it all down with. Lots and lots...
And rest.
Don't forget to think about being well as often as you would lament being sick...gentle reminders to self to heal.

feel better soon,
dp

10. Sorry you're sick, supernova.
If you have the strength, a good hot shower sometimes helps, especially directing the water on your chest and back.
