2. Jimi really used to study Buddy...
...and Buddy loves to tell those stories about looking out into the audience and seeing Jimi there with a video camera, filming his every move.

What I like most about this performance is that it takes the song from its roots (both "Voodoo Child" and "Voodoo Chile" hatched from the same egg as Muddy Waters' "Rollin' Stone"), through the Jimi version, into something brand new and not at all "derivative."

Although we'll never know for sure, Jimi's steps outside of the immediate "Experience" during his lifetime (the Woodstock band, Band of Gypsys) indicate to me that if he were alive today, we would have enjoyed his collaborations with all kinds of musicians, from all kinds of genres.

3. I'm positive he would have done space jazz
his later stuff, much available via bootleg, and the live jams he participated in seem to indicate as much

10. No way to predict in advance which ones will sink or swim...
...but yeah, what a movie. And what a lineup.
