12. I'm surprised A Serious Man hasn't gotten more attention.
It is another Coen Bros. masterpiece, IMO, right up there with the best of their movies.

11. I'm a goy shiksa and I LOVED "A Serious Man."
It's right up there with "Raising Arizona" and "Fargo" with me, and that is high praise indeed.

16. I used to joke that I was the skiksa, until I realized it had negative origins

quoth Wiki, "The word shiksa is derived from the Hebrew term sheketz, which means "abomination", "impure," or "object of loathing", depending on the translator."

or is that "chippie" can't remember... :D

5. You may want to skip Where The Wild Things Are.

It turned out to be dull and uninspired. I like the idea of Spike Jones making movies but I never seem to like the movies themselves...

ETA: don't flame me this was just my opinion.

29. Can't wait until it's out on DVD. ;)
But okay, pirate radios are fine in my book. My dad and a few did run one in the 80's. The DJ was a huge ELO fan, though. ;) Fun times, until they got caught and our house searched. Reminder: Do not pout the sending equipment under a bed. They look there, first.

the music and the spirit of it!

http://www.cbc.ca/arts/film/story/2009/11/13/f-pirate-radio-review.html

It was a lot of fun if you love rock and roll from the British Invasion era - great actors, too.

here's the trailer http://ontheflix.com/2009/11/12/pirate-radio-movie-trailer-looks-funnyfun-interesting/

I have to admit it did have a whiff of Mamma Mia about it ( somewhat light story - well until the end- formed around music), but the music was great fun.

26. Thanks!
I like some of the music from back then and pirate stations were much like public radio here: playing all the stuff the commercial/government stations wouldn't touch.

Pirate radio broadcasting is an interesting "field". If I had the electronics background, I'd have been doing it by now

27. my husband just told me the Brits had to broadcast this way until well into
the early 80s, or something. Wonder if that's what Elvis was talking about with Radio, Radio! :D

It's cool how many internet stations there are, too.

25. I say Precious ~ it is powerful
and shows a side of life that is rarely seen on screen.

Monique and all the actors are shining brightly in this one.

names for parents are not equal to one Monique.
