German speakers..your translation help needed
What's German for "Please scan" or "Please scan this barcode"? I'm mailing a package to Germany, and want to make sure German postal handlers scan the package so that delivery confirmation tracking is completed.

1. "Bitte scannen,"
or "Bitte scannen Sie diesen Barcode/Strichcode." Barcode should be known in German, but for security, I'd use 'Strichcode,' too. :hi:

2. Good luck!
You're going to need it! DHL SUCKS ASS! If you are sending it and getting a tracking number in the US, then you should be ok. Did I mention DHL SUCKS ASS?

Mother fuckers have cost me and my family hundreds of dollars in lost packages and shipment fees.

4. I'm using USPS for this
However, USPS just recently lost a package I mailed to the Far East, and I'll probably lose several hundred dollars on that.

5. I've had no problems with the US Postal Service

It has ALWAYS been DHL once the package has arrived in Germany. If you are sending the package Priority then you will get a tracking number and you can see when it arrives in Germany, when it leaves customs and when (AND IF!) it is delivered here in Germany.

When I was in the US I mailed 7 large packages to myself here in Germany. Mind you, the DHL guy was the same one every time, I'm on his route. They delivered all my packages but the last one was damaged and he was a total asshole about it. A month later, my sister sent a Christmas box full of presents and this same DHL guy said he couldn't find my address. It ended up costing my sister several hundred dollars.

Good luck getting your package over here.
