1. yes, it really happened
My mother was there on that day the state blew up the whale, and the shower of blubber chunks terrorized the spectators. Good TV. The reporter on that story is still alive and well, retired now.

8. Is that the one where the sheriff is standing on the beach...
and getting splattered? I laughed my ass off when I saw that a couple of years ago. Then, someone said the beach stunk of rotted whale carcass for months. ("What could possibly go wrong with this idea...")

1000 lbs of dynamite-didn't anyone just think of towing the carcass out to sea?

4. OMG! Rush Limbaugh died?
And then his corpse was treated poorly? I know that very few here like him, but I find that just tacky.

5. That video should be used as a backdrop every time Bachman, Palin, Limbaugh,
Hannity, Beck and all the other batshit crazies open that cut beneath their noses.

7. That is legendary footage from the Oregon Coast.
"The Day It Rained Whale Blubber" would be a good name for a novel.
