WOW! This is so cool . . .

Is there a good satellite image of your abode somewhere on the intertubes?

1. Since you live in Southern Maryland, I went ahead and checked on my old house...
Edited on Thu Nov-12-09 05:07 PM by Tommy_Carcetti
....and lo and behold, my old house was updated too. The resolution looks a lot more clearer and crisp on the new image. You can actually make out the shape of the house, the driveway, and even some of the features in the yard.

My old street still doesn't have Streetview, though.

3. Isn't that amazing?
I can tell that it was done about four years ago, because the landscaping had just been done in that photo, and the stadium a couple of miles away hadn't been begun yet.

I can also see the barns where poor little Miranda Rat Face must've had her horrible encounter with the barbed wire. :(

7. Yeah I know what you mean....
...my heart sunk a little bit looking at my old backyard and knowing my pets were buried there....

2. There's a pretty good image of our house.
No street-view yet, however.

There are really good street-views of the area where I grew up (where Mom still lives). Whenever I feel homesick, I take a virtual stroll around the old neighborhood. Weird, huh?

4. I just checked, mine is at least 5 years old
We have changed our landscaping significantly and removed several tree five years ago, plus there's a car in the drive that we haven't owned for two years.

6. Our lot is so heavily wooded you can't even tell there's a structure there.
I love that. Do your worst, FEMA black helicopters! :bwahahahahaha:

11. Ours too. You can see part of the roof, a car in the driveway, and that is it.

10. They updated our refuge a few months ago.
Before, you just saw blurry green, but now you can make out the houses. There's even my koi pond visible. ;)

13. Mine is still the same, I wonder if it will be updated. I like MSN's birds eye view.
We're a rural town so they go up pretty close. I noticed that our former house in the city wasn't so close. It's cool though, you can turn the picture and see your place from all 4 sides and move the image around. I can see a spot on our roof that needs repair.

15. I like that I can see the house my father built in Google street view
next door to the one my grandfather built. I probably won't get back to my home town until there is a funeral.

18. The image of my parents' house is fairly old...
It shows a tree that fell in probably 2002 or 2003.

19. We live way off the road, so all you can see is our driveway. The other thing is, if you google map
our address, it has it completely wrong and shows you a house about seven miles away from us. Google maps isn't very good with a lot of the rural stuff.

Having said that, I have a great view of a house I grew up in in a town of 6,500. It's very cool and I like looking at it.

20. Updated street view on mine.
Before they had a view from the back of the building, after a snow storm. I could see my window. Now, everything is green. I can't see my window, though. It's fairly recent, because they're showing road work that kept me sleep deprived for weeks.

22. Most of my neighborhood has a street view but not our street.
I looked up my friend's house and he is standing in his yard.

The pictures look recent, maybe a year old.
