I just bought a notebook made of Stone Paper. Cool Stuff

I really like the feel of it. It's different. And it was about the same price as the other notebooks at the store - drug store.


ViaStone is actually making paper out of rocks. I guess if it was good enough for cavemen... Anyhow, it's made of limestone, mostly, and a small amount of non-toxic resin to bind the 'mineral substrate' together. You may have felt pure resin paper, it's very much like thin plastic, but adding large amounts limestone powder allows for a much more paper-like, completely bio-degradable, easily recyclable and chemically benign product.

1. I'll have to look for it sometime.

I have some resin "paper" I tried once for drawing, but it doesn't take ink too well and I never got any further than that.

My only "concern" with stone paper would be that it might wear down the points of drawing pens faster than fiber paper.

If I ever have the room for a shop, I'll get into paper-making and own one of these:
