Stinky the cat, going under the knife tomorrow
He was attacked by a canid a few days ago (could have been a dog, a coyote, we don't know. Whatever).

Broken femur, broken pelvis. Hospital stay, plus surgery is going to run $5,000.

Oh well,...

Next crisis?

5. Thanks! We're all hoping he will pull through
Its amazing he made it back into the house. Didn't complain. He just went to sleep upstairs alone which was weird since he always prefers to be close to people. My wife and son thought something was amiss, so they took him to the vet. Sure enough, he had bite marks all over, and the broken bones.

I can't believe how gentle he is, he hissed, but never bit anybody while he was handled throughout this ordeal.

6. They KNOW when you're trying to help
When he starts objecting to being examined, then you'll know he's getting well.

16. For the next two months he'll be indoors
He is mostly an indoor cat, but has in and out privileges.

He sleeps indoors, goes out to sun himself, exercise, and do his bidness.

He'll have to decide if he wants to stay indoors or not.

:hi:

26. No surgery needed aftter all!
The surgeon says those are old breaks and they are healing, so no surgery is needed. The cat is recovering from the mauling bites and abscess. We can come get him at 6 tonight. My son had to pay upfront 75 percent of all fees so he is trying to guesstimate how much he thinks they should return to his credit card. We MUST keep the cat indoors for 45 days for rabies observation by law.

Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes!

:hugs:
