My cat peed in the tub.........I caught him
I clean out their litter box very thoroughly once a month now that I am using the new breeze system.

The box is next to the tub in the basement bathroom. I thought he was sleeping upstairs so I proceeded to clean out the bos and when I was done, I went to put it back and put the new pellets in it and caught my little black cat trying to paw the tub to cover up the pee...

it was really quite funny

1. The late Hamlet used to crap in the tub.

In the extra bathroom I had at the time. At least it was easy to clean up and disinfect.

2. You're not going to believe this...

Oh, my God -- I used to have a cat named Hamlet who did the same thing! Then he used to pull down a washcloth and cover it up, like I wouldn't see it.

What are the chances we'd both have a cat named Hamlet that has the same habit? I had mine back in 1969. Do you think yours was his reincarnation? What did your Hamlet look like?

7. My Hamlet was gray and white.
He was built like a Persian, and had the long hair, with big copper eyes and a bad attitude. In his prime he weighed 17 pounds. All cats have delusions of grandeur, but he was worse than most. My sister called him "evil." He once tore a perfectly good pair of slacks my mother was wearing. Only another cat I had for a while, named Horatio, could really stand up to him. Horatio had been a stray, and had a street attitude. I had to give him away to someone who could keep him outside because he wouldn't learn to use a litterbox. I really hated to part with him because it was hilarious to see him put Hamlet in his place!

9. My Hamlet was also very large
with an attitude. He was kind of tiger-striped, black and gray, with a white belly. Short hair, though. He left me one morning - jumped out of a third-story window to the ground and was never seen again. No signs of any injury, blood splatters or anything, so my assumption is that he just wanted some "space."

3. I wish Quark would piddle in the tub
instead of on the futon. He's having some kind of territorial thing with Socrates, but Socks is twice his size, so Quark's being passive-aggressive. :eyes:

4. Cats are weird. If I'm a day late changing the litter in the box,
the younger one walks around howling until I do. She usually starts about 4 a.m. You've got to love them.

5. I have a cat who does that & I think it's convenient - less smelly pee in the litterbox.

6. What is the new breeze system?
Inquiring minds want to know. Especially inquiring minds too weak to resist cats.

8. I caught someone peeing in our pool once.
Thing is, he was standing on the diving board at the time.

11. Have you tried providing an empty box?
I wonder if he'd go in that. Of course, it's easier to just rinse the tub than to clean an empty cat box...

Cats can be so weird.
