my dad was diagnosed with invasive cancer in situ (CIS) of the bladder this past April. He has had numerous biopsies and had a standard six-week treatment with BCG (Bacille Calmette-Guerin). Today, he's had his biopsy post-BCG.
The bad news: more tumors were found. They are waiting for him to wake up from the anesthesia and talk to him about a radical cystectomy (removal of bladder, prostate and lymph nodes by the groin), something my dad has already said he will not do.
He is a week shy of 60, a former heavy smoker (smoking accounts for 50% of all bladder cancer cases and it does not matter if you quit decades ago - carcinogens found in cigarettes lie in wait in the lining of the bladder and, along with yet-unknown triggers, there you have it).
I just need vibes.. he's a great guy, a well respected engineer, a very gifted hand drafter in the pre-CAD days, very funny... Some of the dirtiest jokes I've ever heard came from his mouth :)
Please, need vibes
Thanks!
