Two houses on my street are already all lit up and festive.

I guess they decided to cover all their bases by decorating for every conceivable occasion at the same time so they won't have to worry about taking anything down.

Edited to add I wish I had a nighttime picture but I used this pic from google earth.

3. My rule is they go up the first sunday in Advent.
I am a Christmas grouch until that time, after which I become the Lord Mayor of Christmastown.

4. I'm ok if you put them up, just don't plug them in.
If there's a nice weekend in November, I string mine up. One year the weather was so nasty in December I had to put up the lights 6 days before Christmas. Now I plan ahead.

I just don't turn them on til after Thanksgiving.
