Is "freedoms" actually correct grammar? As in the bumpersticker, "Thank A Veteran For Your Freedoms," shouldn't it be "Thank....For Your Freedom?" Is "freedom" ever a plural?
1. My American Heritage dictionary says no, freedom isn't a plural.
This vet always had a problem with that idea. Each of us is responsible for our freedom. At best we vets manned the watch towers; our freedom is ours to do with as we wish. We the People are its best defense.
