Thoughts on Book "The Shack"?
I found it mildly comforting, interesting, and quite predictable.

All in all, it was still a non-fundamentalist view of religion, and a story of a man who lost his child.

1. My dear SPKrazy!
I haven't read it...

It sounds sad...

Losing a child cannot be easy...

I haven't heard much about it at all. Would you say you liked it?

3. I was hoping it was going to be a tell-all about the making of the film 'Caddyshack'.

5. I only made it halfway through, and was shocked it was on the best seller list.
I thought the writing was dreadful and the idea that "God" was this kind of PC tripartite being didn't provide any kind of original thinking at all. Maybe something worthwhile eventually happened; I confess I don't know. But it wore out its welcome fast with me!

6. My book group was going to read it ...
I have it on my nightstand.
I think most of us didn't realize it was religious. (One person suggested it months and months ago, and it made it on the list.)
Gag.
Just looking at the jacket and liner notes makes me feel queasy.
I hate religious stuff. I hate the way the book seems like it just presumes that there is a god and everyone thinks that.
I won't make it through it, I know, and there has been talk of canceling it for the book group, because most of us feel the same way.
I think I'll just relist it on paperbackswap.com and try to get a credit for it.
