1. Yes, you can!
A TiVo HD uses cable cards which Verizon will supply, configure and activate.

I'm in a Comcast area and my TiVo HD works wonderfully, we're just waiting for Verizon to move into the neighborhood so we can jump ship (sadly, we're in an area where FIOS was promised for 2009, but that timetable has slipped repeatedly).

2. Do you know if they have dual tuners?
We are so spoiled by having dual tuners. It will be very hard to give those up.

Of course, this is all moot so far as we don't have access to FIOS, either.

3. Dual tuners? We have Fios HD here in
HoCo. I'd never go back to Comcast. We couldn't even get HD or the internets with comcast, because they refused to fix the outside wiring (which is their responsibility) from the street.

4. Yes, the TiVo HD has dual tuners
and two CableCARD slots, one which takes a multi-stream card, both can take single cards.

To record two shows, Verizon would need to provide a multi-stream card, or two single CableCARDs.

For my installation, Comcast provided a Multi-stream card, allowing two shows to be recorded (multi-stream allows for up to six simultaneous channels, but TiVo is limited to two channels).
