There's Thunder Paws happening in my house tonight. Cats are racing all
up and down the place, which is pretty cool considering how old they are. :) They are pretty chirpy too.

1. IT is very funny when they get into one of those insane running moods.
Mine chase each other up and down the stairs....
I am sure my landlady, who lives downstairs, just loves it. :D

sugar water everywhere!

7. Yup, thundering herd happening over here too
once the weather gets a little nippy, it's time to turn the house into the Indianapolis Speedway. :eyes:

My dad had a cat he named "Crazy Horse" because when he charged around the house, he sounded like a herd of horses.

11. My dad called it that back when I was a kid and we got cats. It was a two-story house so
"thunder paws" consisted of two levels of noisy racing.

The house is one of those where there is no hallway upstairs, but rather the bedrooms are connected with each other. This cat would start out on my bed, have a little freak out, jump down, go tearing down the front stairs and into the living room where he went up the curtains on one side of the window and down the others, then back upstairs to my bed for another freak out. It was hysterical to watch, ears all flattened down and tail like a pitcher handle.

37. Sounds like utter pandamonium. LOL
and lots of fun.

Our house is a one and a half story with our bedroom in a loft. Thr living room and kitchen are all one room, and there are no doors except to the bathroom and a small guest room on the first floor. You can just imagine the circle they run around there.

My only problem is these two we got just little over a year ago don't care if you are in the way. They run right over you and I have the scratches all over my body to prove it.

:hi:

14. Mine are too fast for me to see the swinging effect. LOL What I really miss, that I hardly
ever see anymore is the "wiggle butt" pounce. :( They used to do that all the time when they were younger.

Also the "I'm so flat no creature can possibly see me as I stalk them" pose.

I swear. I will open the front door (screened thank God), making sure no cat is in sight & within a second of it opening, *BAM* there she is, spread-eagle HALF-WAY UP THE SCREEN DOOR!! She can run & launch herself at the door so fast I don't even know she's there until I hear the *BAM*. :eyes:

I said the wrong thing because he would have been all over me if the screen hadn't been between us. LOL

Just hangs there on the screen. I have to replace the screen every now and then on account of cats.

more so than usual. Racing from the glass door she usually camps out at to the hallway, race back to the door, race back and forth along the door, etc etc.

it must be the weather...

20. We call that the "crazies"
they tend to do it during their Ancestors hunting time, early morning and early night..but I found it can happen anytime.

Daniel is too old to run (unless she is holding it and running to the litter box) but BARNEY does it 3-5 times a week..thundering through the house and knocking stuff over on the tight corners.

Enjoy it, they are doing one of the things cats do best.:-)

26. Has the weather cooled where you are?
Felines tend to get more active once the weather starts to cool -- I learned this at a talk on Big Cats.Started to look at my own brood and noticed it was true. Everyone gets frisky comes fall here.

29. Makes me nervous when the demon takes over my kitty
late in the evening.

Means we're gonna be attacked as we try to sleep- or else she gets locked out of the bedroom, which I hate to do.

38. When I had cats, I called that
"playing CowCats and Indians." I had 3 cats, and they would get on these insane tears where they would run though the house and bounce off the furniture and the walls--and sometimes me. I was reclining on the couch one night watching TV when one of them tried to sail from the floor to the coffee table and then over me to the back of the couch. She was a little low, and I ended up with a long thin scratch across my face. Ouch!

It's amazing how much noise little feet can make . . . .
