earl scruggs can still kick it at 85 years old.
saw him last night at the old town school of folk music. he has 2 of his sons in the band, and a couple of solid gold sidemen. they were just great. earl needs to sit in a chair, and doesn't say much, but those fingers can still move. almost seem to do it all by themselves.

old town school is a great little place. never been there before, somehow.
really fun show.

i have just about all the albums with his kids. i have an album where he plays with---

joan baez, doc watson, bob dylan, byrds, morris brothers and many are recorded at the artist`s homes....

but the finest cut on the record is his comments about the war protest in washington dc in 1969

no cd`s and one vinyl on ebay.

when i get a vinyl to cd turntable i`ll send you a copy...

opps! the name of the album is...earl scruggs performing with his family and friends ...performances from the soundtrack of the net tv special...maybe there is a store in chicago that has it...

i`ll be placing a christmas order next month.....

almost gotta live in the hood to go there. they could walk to the old town school, also. great, intimate, homey little venue. downright pinko institution.
