I just made a home-made pizza with "imitation mozzarella".
My wife accidentally bought it.

If this post prevents even ONE PERSON from ever eating that disgusting shit, it will have been worth it.

One bite of an otherwise delicious pizza, and the "mozzarella" coated my teeth like sticky slime. It was SO GROSS!

13. Vegan Gourmet fake mozzarella is very pleasant
though it has very little in common with mozzarella. Seems more like a cross between mozzarella and ricotta; I found it pleasant mixed in with pasta, but almost useless on pizza. (Their definition of "it melts!" is significantly different than mine.)

9. The texture.
It burned a bit at the end too, unlike the way mozzerella would. As for the taste, it was hard to tell. The overly strong Trader Joe's sauce overpowered it (not recommended) and I could only stomach a few bites anyway.

But yes, texture was GROSS!

8. That is a horrible thing
That no living person should ever have to experience. Perhaps we have been on the wrong track with this health care reform. We should scrap that and start over, with a universal no imitation cheese reform. You have to fix the basics before you worry about the details.

19. Never heard of it, but I believe it.
I've tried something like 15 kinds, and it's all sucked until the few that came out recently. Seems they finally got it right, except that it's not cheap.

22. Here in WI you can be shot for putting imitation cheese on a pizza.
When I was a kid here back in the 50s, restaurants were legally required to serve butter and not margarine. In fact, you could not buy colored margarine. It was white and you had to mix in a color packet. I can remember people smuggling colored oleo from Iowa.

24. Margarine is the devil. it's so funny to see 'health foods' use margarine as an ingredient.
That stuff shouldn't be classified as a food.
