Happy Birthday Bonnie Raitt!
Today, November 8, 2009, the great Bonnie Raitt turns 60. The lady is a fantastic musician and was/is active in many progressive causes. So let's all wish her a happy birthday and many many more.

2. I love Bonnie Raitt!
She is a fantastic vocalist and slide guitar player. One of the sweetest people in a very unsweet business.

Happy Birthday Bonnie!

5. One of my favs- a real inspiration for young female musicians back in the day
something that is sadly lacking these days.

Have a great one, Bonnie!

6. 60 ??? That's impossible; I'm almost as old as her and I'm still young..oops, guess I'm not
Edited on Sun Nov-08-09 03:55 PM by abq e streeter
I'll echo what another person here just said about her being a sweet person....I can only speak for my very brief moment of hanging out with her; maybe a half hour, 35 (35???) years ago, but she was absolutely sweet and down to earth, and I get a very strong impression she's still the same. And yeah, not only a great singer, but a great musician, and an even better person ( and even prettier in person than her album covers back then too). Happy 60th Bonnie, and if you're single these days, me too...remember that kid backstage in Albuquerque in '74 that you thought was cute ? ( 58 now, guess I should emphasize WAS cute; sigh.....although she's still beautiful )

They're good friends, but not married.

Happy B'day Bonnie, you're one of the reasons I picked up the guitar at 16. Love, love, love you!

15. I don't think this is right
Jackson Browne has been romantically involved with someone called Dianna Cohen since the 1990s

20. Did you know her dad was a famous singer too?
John Raitt (January 19, 1917 – February 20, 2005) was an American actor and singer.

He is best known for his stage roles in the musicals Carousel, Oklahoma!, The Pajama Game, Carnival in Flanders, Three Wishes for Jamie, and A Joyful Noise, in which he set the standard for virile, handsome, strong-voiced leading men during the golden age of the Broadway musical. His only leading film role was in the 1957 movie version of The Pajama Game opposite Doris Day.

(from Wikipedia)

I love his rendition of "Hey There."
