4. CSI Miami's great...for the first couple of minutes.
All the way up until Captain Obvious sees the severed-headed bodies all over the place and says something insightful like, "What we have here...is a murder!" Once The Who starts screaming, it's over.

6. He portrays the full range of emotions
from A to B.

If it weren't for the sunglasses, he'd have absolutely nothing but the grimace and the head tilt.
Is he the most highly paid shitty actor in the world?

22. Well, OK - I was thinking of his mighty performances in "NYPD Blue."
He had very good writers and a great cast that made him seem competent - why would they cast such a a schmuck in such a good show - both of which are lacking in Miami. I guess they rely on him to carry it all. Him and the bikini clad young ladies.

He made a few movies after he left NYPD, too - his great career move.....

13. The sets on that show

are great!

The BUILDINGS are colorful, not the drab
grayish blue melting into a wannabe "earthtone"
you find everywhere in SoCal.

That alone has me wanting to visit Miami
some day.

11. Give him credit where due, though
He made erstwhile real estate tycoon Nicholas Cage seem positively dynamic by comparison in 1995's Kiss of Death.

16. Well, he's made quite the career at being a bad actor hasn't he?
He probably makes more money PER EPISODE in reruns than we make annually.

Oh well.

Sir, for your choice of career paths, pick a door, is it, door number one, following in the footsteps of George Bush, the worst politician in history, door number two, Artumus Himple, pig farmer from Arkansas, or door number three, David Carusoe, bad actor who gets paid A LOT of money. Choose carefully.

18. I dunno
For some reason I'm watching the movie "Charly" with Cliff Robertson, and he's such a ham, it's unbelievable. Makes Caruso look excellent.

I forgot there was an attempted "date rape" scene in here...

26. not to hijack the thread, but has anyone watched the 'original' CSI
with Laurence Fishburn taking over for William Petersen?

What do you think? I haven't seen it... don't even know what day/time it's on.

28. I have
They needed to do something to freshen it all up. Not sold on Fishburne yet. Its oddly contrasting, he seems less polished, less hollywood than the other actors. Like the genuine human in perfectly cast plastic crew, which kinda throws me a little.

29. I think the show has found it's stride again. It seemed very strange
at first, (not a knock on Fishburn at all) but I think it's gotten a lot better now that he's been on there awhile. It's as if the actors have gotten comfortable with each other, and now know how to play off each other very well, like they did when the original cast was on.

I have to laugh at the typical Hollywood cheese, where, upon shooting somebody, he just calmly walks up or says a snappy one-liner.
