2. Most boring novel I ever attempted to read,
not once, but twice. Even the illustrated copy didn't help!

I know plenty that love it and all told me "If you just get through the first 100-200 pages, you'll love it!" Well, 100-200 pages is at least half of most science fiction novels I have read that got into the story fast and never let go. I do not care about all the politics and history. That's probably why I love the first Dune movie, still :D

I do love the Dune series but i am not sure I would consider it the best novel ever...Sorry Dr. Strange...;)

5. Well, strictly speaking...
the best novel wouldn't be Dune, but rather God Emperor of Dune. Thus, your transgression is forgiven.
