You get excited thinking about when they will be old enough to do things on their own like wipe their ass, feed themselves, brush their teeth, etc. However, eventually reality sets in when they do get old enough to gain the ability to do those things, and they still don't. Then you long for the days of diapers and shoving food in their mouth.
