I got in a car accident tonight
I was on my way to work and was on 405. I was hit in the driver's side door and even though I spun out and ended up facing highway traffic, I managed to keep my wits and turned the car around and got it off the road. My car is still drivable but I can't open the driver's side door and amazingly, I came out of it with just a shoulder strain. I've decided to spend the night at the hospital (the hospital I work at) because I dont want to drive again tonight. I know I'm going to hurt like a buggerbear tomorrow but tonight, I feel really lucky.

1. And then, my computer decided to burp
It's not a good night overall, and yet, I'm not hurt so it can't be that bad.

3. In retrospect, yeah
I'm actually impressed that, in the moment, I did just the right thing and probably saved my life and potentially others. I can't believe I had such a rapid response when I spun and was facing oncoming highway traffic. I didn't freeze and thank goodness for that.

4. Good to hear you're OK ...
... Doors can be fixed. Lives on the other hand... something else.

Hope the other party that hit you stopped... and you got their details.

Every time I get into an accident I never feel like driving again, ever... but then I realise I got to drive again if I have to get to and from work. Don't blame you for not wanting to drive.

Hope the shoulder strain isn't too bad.

Mark.
