Pumpkin Martini, anyone?
Edited on Fri Nov-06-09 08:06 PM by Auggie

3 ounces Bols Pumpkin Smash Liqueur
1 ounce Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
1 dash of Half & Half
Ground cinnamon, for garnish

Shake ingredients over ice, and strain into a cocktail glass rimmed with sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle a little more cinnamon on top. Serves 1.

It looks really cool with a cinnamon stick in it.

4. I would so drink that!
I'm allll about pumpkin ANYthing.

And bonus--made with rum. I was a pirate in a former life or something--rum doesn't affect me in the slightest.

5. Martini FAIL.
A martini is made with gin or (in modern times) vodka -- NOT rum. And certainly not SPICED rum!!

While the above may indeed be a tasty concoction (I could see sipping the pumpkin liqueur neat!), it is not, and never will be, a martini!

6. I hate pumpkin recipes.
When Dunkin' Donuts came out with Pumpkin coffee, I almost lost it. Just because it's fall and pumpkins are cute, that doesn't mean we have to add them as ingredients in everything.

7. Why ruin perfectly good alcohol?
I had this discussion with a friend of mine who runs a brewpub here in Manchester (Milly's Tavern). He is so proud of his Pumpkin Ale. It's won awards and been written up in the Union Leader, New Hampshire Magazine, you name it. I can't stand the stuff, and half to apologize profusely whenever he offers me one!

8. No thanks

Don't care for pumpkin.

Even if I still drank, that just doesn't right.

9. NO!!!!!1111!1
:puke: <<====note color of puke!

pumpkin is for pie (and MAYBE as a vegetable in stew)
it is NOT an ingredient for beverages like coffee and especially booze :puke:

I don't even think it should be a flavor of ice cream, or cheesecake. Pie. With whipped cream.

11. you got it!
funny line last week on Prairie Home Companion. GK was talking about pumpkins and all their uses - said you can even make wine. Most people only do it once, but it can be done. :toast:
