Colorblindness--ur doin' it rite
So today MG Jr. was playing with his Mighty World toys. (They're 4"-high figures with LOTS of itty bitty accessories and cars and trucks.) MG Jr. loves law enforcement--and sirens--so his collection is heavy on fire rescue and police instead of the brand's other stuff, like explorers and townspeople.

Anyway, he started rooting around in the plastic bin that houses all the Mighty World figures and itty bitty accessories. Our conversation went thusly:

Me: "What are you looking for?"

Jr: "I need the black guy, and I can't remember what kind of hat he wears."

Me: "The K-9 policeman is in there--keep looking. And he wears a blue baseball-type hat." Note: The K-9 officer is the only African-American figure in the set that MG Jr. has so far.

Jr: "No no no! THIS guy. What kind of hat does HE wear?"

I went over to the bin and found him holding a fireman...wearing a black turnout coat. That, to a 6-year-old, is "the black guy". There's a lesson in there somewhere, I'm sure of it. :D

2. Howdy!
I was just thinking about how I owe you an e-mail or two or 12! Remodeling is continuing apace on the outside of the house (clapboards), but my tasks have stalled because of icky sickies (first the kid, then me). Today is my first day fever free in a week--yahoo. Hoping to get back on track shortly! And you? :hi:

4. I am "recovering"
from the drugs I imbibed prior to a root canal on Wednesday. The procedure was nothing compared to the pain I allowed myself to endure (even with hydrocodone and percocet). I finally had enough of said drugs doing no good on Monday, called Tuesday and got in first thing Wednesday. Now that tooth is filled, root gone and blissfully inert! :D

I've had some insights on my story, so I've been doing more research on NDEs and Archangels. I'm specifically trying to find a kind of rundown of all details of death as it happens, at least "spiritually". And helping someone on another site with regards to Greek mythology and online sources. I left out all the spiritual links since not everyone reacts favorably to that kind of thing. I may post them anyway, just as more background info.

That's good your fever is gone. I had kind of forgotten you had been going through the sickness stuff with your family, so it should have made sense to me that you get it, too. So, get to the emails when you can. I check that email at least daily, so I'll see yours eventually...

5. Ouchie!
Glad to hear you're doing better.

There's a lot of after-death stuff out there--don't forget the author I mentioned in my last e-mail. She's really good, associated crappy TV show notwithstanding.

7. Oh right!
I had forgotten about her. I may pick it up just to read, because I'm hoping to learn enough to finish that particular section this weekend.

I just watched another death, though: the death of Kosh!

Yeah, I'm watching Babylon 5 again. I can't get enough of it! :D
