major eye surgery is scary but eye surgeons these days are true miracle workers

i personally know of many success stories and hope the same for your friend

i will give one example -- a friend lost vision (both eyes) for 3 weeks because of uncontrolled diabetes -- i have to admit i thought that one a lost cause because of the length of time he couldn't see but he's fine now with the exception of not being able to drive at night -- pretty amazing to me
