I want an honest answer too. I applied for the moderator position and will find out on November 11th if I'm one the chosen few. I don't really get a lot of feedback from people here, other than from my very small circle of friends and I wonder if I'm a polarizing character?

I've got a mouth like a sailor but I've never been mean or malicious and I always try to be kind and honest.

I've had a few run ins here and there. I've had a few threads locked, i.e. my neighbors are fucking loudly...but for the most part I've kept my nose clean.

I just don't have much feedback to go on to think people would accept me as a mod, IF I were appointed.

29. I don't know if you can step back from an issue enough to be objective.

I've seen you in posts where feelings have been hurt but you agreed with the author of the thread.

Not everyone can just 'get over it'.

How are you going to be a moderator if you just expect posters to 'get over it'?

I believe the admins as well as other moderators were of the same mind; that it was time to move on because the disruption to the board was so great, people needed to quit posting about it.

and not good behavior from a person who takes one side of the issue over another (which a mod is not supposed to do).

Let's go back to why any of us are posting in this thread.

If a poster can't step back and try to be neutral & work toward throwing water on flames - then they might not make a very good mod.

"get over it" is not taking a side

sometimes a neutral action is perceived as taking sides (and obviously sometimes it may not be neutral), certainly many individuals who get punished for things very often feel they have been sided against (ask any misbehaving child, anywhere)

How is "get over it" so very inflamatory? lots of people who get tired of public infighting say/said that - doesn't mean they took sides, just meant they were sick of it all.

Based on seeing the poster's behavior w/subjects and the poster's use of the 'get over it' attitude (and yes, taking sides) I don't thing they can be objective or neutral.
