2. It's looking like the Phillies are going to need a miracle
That loss last night after battling to get back in the game and tie it up was probably a heart breaker and it might have broke their spirit.

19. Yes, and the Yankees did nothing to earn that victory
Edited on Mon Nov-02-09 09:50 PM by bigwillq
right. :eyes:

on edit: each team made 1 error last night. Yankees had nine hits; Philles had eight. Each team left seven men on base. Each team had three 2-out RBIs.

Pretty even game. Yankees got the last clutch hit and won the game.

24. Bummer A Rod
A little fly pop to right like that is a home run in Yankme Stadium. They should count it in Major League ballparks, too! Maybe Steinbrenner can get a change from the Rules Committee over the winter.

25. And with Lee mowing down the batters
The Yankmes have resorted to gamesmanship more suited to Legion ball than the World Series. Nice to see a home plate umpire disinclined to indulge that nonsense.

36. Extremely happy with the win
You knew the Yankees wouldn't roll over, but I think Lee still did a great job - Manuel left him in too long. Manuel's got to manage better the next game and I hope the Yankees pitchers are tired.

38. Keys to Phils winning the series are, IMO..
Edited on Tue Nov-03-09 12:13 AM by mvd
1) Manuel
2) Can Howard get hot?
3) Please, start controlling Damon. You know A-Rod and Jeter will get their hits, but Damon has been more trouble than all
4) If the Phils win game 6, who pitches game 7? After Hamels's comments, I think you have to say Happ or do it by committee (for example, Lee 3 innings, Happ 3 innings, rest of bullpen 3 innings)

Maybe Myers could pitch some innings, too?

Whatever happens, I'm proud of this team. They have had more adversity than last year and made it this far. :hi:
