I'm running my daughter's Brownie troop meeting on Thursday
wish me luck! They have each of the parents run a meeting, and I volunteered to step up this Thursday when another woman had something suddenly come up... me and a bunch of 7 year old girls. I think I'm in trouble!

the topic is "All in the Family" - I don't remember why I picked it, but I think because the backgrounds of the kids is pretty interesting: Chinese, Indian, Pakistani, Korean, Irish (from Ireland, not of Irish descent), Mexican, African-American and my mixed Chinese/Italian/Polish daughter. I think I may be missing a country or two as well

*****REQUIREMENT SECTION*****

#1. Where Are You From?

Find out about your family background. ((You will need to inteverview your parents or grandparents))
Did your family come from another state?
When and Why did they leave?
Did either of parents, or your grandparents, or your great-grandparents come from another country?
Look at the map or globe and find that country.

There are a lot more items at the link, too.

1. Good luck,
NewJeff. You have courage clearly, and the topic you selected shows you also have intuition and brains.

Hope you report back on the meeting.

3. "Where did I come from?"...
The five year old asked his mom.
"Oh, boy" she thought. "Here we go. Damn, it's so EARLY for him. But they seem to grow up SO fast now. Oh, well...I'll do my best."

So she launched into the whole 'birds and bees' thing. About how the mommy and daddy 'get together' and make a baby and all that.
It was excruciating for her.

And then he said, "No Mom, I don't mean THAT. Eddie come from Denver. Where did I come from?"
