Q&A about some DU Basics

While I am downing a latte here in the Lounge, I am thinking there may be folks like me who came in not too long ago and have a few basic questions about these terrific forums.

For example, I'd like to know how to make sure all the threads are both visible and open when I go to a topic. This clicking each post is beginning to drive me nuts.

Meanwhile, I'll stand a round of cyber drinks and start with a Pinot Grigio here.

1. If the post has 20 or more replies, click "View All."

If it has less than 20 replies you should be able to see them all.

Although I wouldn't recommend it for Graywarrior's thread that never dies. Cause that will just kill your computer.

It's a courtesy for readers who would otherwise click on the subject line and find nothing else. Also "eom" = end of message.

thus negating the whole purpose of the thing.

It could be seen as the equivalent of "This Page Left Blank."

There are times when an image isn't visible, and putting "n/t" in the body lets the reader know that there isn't something wrong with their browser and that you meant the body to have no message.

NGU=never give up
STFU=shut the fuck up


Freeperisms that have become standard:
'Moran' is the accepted spelling at DU for moron. Similarly, a 'hugh moran' is a huge moron.
'Casting asparagus' means casting casting aspersions.
