Very mixed emotions
Saturday, Halloween, my beautiful shepherd died, I hit 20 years sober at almost the exact hour. The weird part as digging his grave, finished about midnight under halogen lights, one of my neighbors called the cops about suspicious activity. I asked policeman if he wanted to see the body, he apologized and drove around the block to neighbors house. An up & down day, but one we'll remember. Goodbye buddy.

Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you.....
I loved you so --
'twas Heaven here with you.

Be proud of that 20 year accomplishment and keep holding on

9. That was the best compliment I have ever gotten in my life.
Probably too much youthful reading of Don Ernesto and a stint as an operation Sgt/ S-3 in the Army, cutting to the end of the chase . Mr. Hemmingway did lead me to believe, in my salad days, that to be a real man and etc. the drinking and hard living was part of being a real man. Now, while still respecting his work, I understand why this intellect saw fit to put a shotgun in his mouth. He must have realized it himself. Not to tangent too far off. THANK-YOU Richard Peace

He was a son's, woops I can't take care of this dog I bought, when I moved out dog.I am disclaiming naming; H.R. Puffinstuff. Regardless the dog was something I needed for my soul. I would have probably named him Malcolm X John Lennon. Thank-you for caring Richard Peace

19. Thank- you
The anniversary felt like an omen, on face, what better night to knock off a bottle of brandy and cry? Lost dog, midnight, cold KY rain, even good cop. This darn maturity thing is harder than misspent youth, Another mule will be kicking in that door.Peace, Richard

18. It's amazing how much of a bond we develop with our animal friends.
To be there through your journey must have surely amplified that bond. Glad he was there for you.

Congratulations on the twenty year milestone. A truly great accomplishment. I wish many more anniversary days to come for you. :pals:
