1. Either way, where do they keep this "saved" time?
Does it accrue interest? Is there a penalty for early withdrawal?

4. The government keeps it, of course, at the U.S Naval Observatory
based on a atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado, at Schriever AFB. They also keep LoranC and GPS.

8. No no. Area 51 is where they keep all the outer space aliens.
And the nukular waste, hush up about all that, or else ...
You know what they will do to you ...

2. Why must we celebrate daylight saving at all? I don't like the sun going down at 4:30pm and pretty
sure most agree with me on that.

3. Well, dude, if that's the case, you want them to do more saving,
not less. You are saying they should save daylight for winter time too.

10. I have a solution
Move closer to the equator where such things don't happen.

Time for my biannual rant against DST:

Daylight Saving Time is silly.

When the sun is at its zenith is very definition of 'noon,' not one-o-clock. This means that averaged throughout the year the sun will set around 6pm (and rise around 6am) give or take. Get used to it people. It's called living on Earth.

People want to experience more daylight? Fine. Get out of bed earlier. But please, for pete's sake, can we leave the clocks alone?

Daylight Saving is like trying to lengthen a rope by cutting a foot off of one end and tying it to the other end.

I have no objection if businesses want to have summer hours for their employees. As it is everyone works different hours anyway. For some, the work day ends at 3pm. For others, it continues until 5 or 6 or 9 or later. Then there are people working graveyard and swing.

Just leave the clocks alone.
