Well I just got back from Paranormal Activity
Edited on Sat Oct-31-09 10:18 PM by charlie and algernon
I gotta say, my thread on Christopher Lee was perfectly timed. Paranormal Activity is the perfect Christopher Lee, classic horror movie. It's one long slow burn leading up to an ending that literally, I mean it, LITERALLY, truly sent shivers up and down my body. I never actually had chills travel up and down my body before. HOLY HELL! The whole movie is totally about what you can't see. There is no musical score, no gimics like using loud bombastic orchestral cues on jump scenes, so you're left totally to your own devices and imagination.

If you need to see the monster and see blood, you will find this movie boring.
If you like movies that feed off your imagination, you'll love it.

Now who's going to stay up all night with me? :scared:

2. yeah, I definitely don't want to spoil it for you
watching it in a theater is interesting, the audience went from laughing and not really taking it seriously, to end of their seats, riveted by the ending. It is a great slow burn, the tension growing throughout the movie.

5. Thanks for the review
I wondered if the ads were just all hype, and was hoping they weren't. I live alone and have a very active imagination. I might have to work up to seeing this. I love scary movies, but in my old age, I've become a big chicken.

6. if you have a very active imagination, it WILL play with you
it's very much an auditory movie, the sounds mess with you. Having said that, you should definitely see it.

8. When I was single
and living alone, I absolutely refused to watch any scary movies. Especially the slasher ones, which I really don't like anyway. :scared:

11. I thought the actors were really likable too.
For non-professionals, I think they did a great job.

12. That definitely added to it
It added to the documentary feel. Neither of them will ever be nominated for any acting award, but they had chemistry together so it worked.
