fuck you death
In health news, I went to my doc this week to get my flu symptoms looked at. While I was there my heart rate went above 160, my lower bp over 100. I was rushed to the ER where they did an ekg and feared I might stroke.

Turns out after 32 years of daily decongestant use, as directed by every dr I ever saw......this was the result. There is also very new evidence that prolonged use of decongestants could cause psychosis, anxiety and agoraphobia. I am finally done withdrawing from the med. But I am visibly shaken. How many times can one face death by the age of 32 and not wonder......what is keeping me alive, cause something sure wants me dead.

3. Or else something sure wants you alive.
Because you've beat it and cursed it, and spit in its eye. I'm glad you made it. That name sure fits.

5. Please take it as a sign of your own strength.
You've survived all of this and you now have more information about what you have been up against. You have removed the dangerous med, and that has to give you a better chance for improvements in the future.

I know first hand that it is all about holding on and getting through it all day by day. You can be more stubborn than the health problems plaguing you.

I hope you kick this flu very soon and then start having some good health news to share with us.

6. Sometimes it seems like forces are working against you in life
and you don't know if you can hang on any longer, but you can and you do. But there are times when it can take and act of heroism. You learn what you are made of at such times. You can just knuckle under and let life do with you what it will, or you can take charge and make your life the way you want it to be. You give meaning to your life.

10. Glad you're over withdrawal
I used to take a lot of decongestants as well - however, once I hit 40, it started causing me some problems. So, I quit using them except when I was really sick. Luckily, using a neti-pot has really helped me out over the past year.
