I bagged a very cool job today!
Up here in the mountains outside of Los Angeles there's a new startup company called Action Zipline Tours. I'm going to be one of their two photographers!

We're going to have 9 ziplines ranging in length from 120 to 1200 feet! It's going to be WAAAAY COOL! We'll be open year round after our Grand Opening in the middle of December. I went out to the site today and from where the ziplines start, there is a clear view of the desert floor 8,000 below and nearly 40 miles away.

It'll be a two and a half hour experience and all 9 ziplines are included in the $89 dollar price tag.

Hi everybody, I'm Chris! I'll be your photographer today, here to document one of the most exhilerating experiences you'll ever have!

1. My dear cherokeeprogressive!
Oh, that sounds wonderful!

And exhilarating...

You must like heights...:scared:

I like heights too, but I like them from behind a very secure, strong barrier!

Will you be able to post any of your pictures?

Congrats, sweetie!

3. My Dear CaliPeggy...
As far as the pics go, I'm guessing they'll be the intellectual property of my employer, but surely they'll be posted on the website. I'm also going to suggest that we put in web-cams so that anyone can see what's going on while we have zippers on the lines.

I love heights silly! I live at 6700 feet!

Funny thing about my interview today... I was on my way down the hill for some other business after the interview, which was at 9 a.m. I had checked the forecast in advance, and it was going to be nearly 80 degrees in San Bernardino. Soooo, I showed up for the interview in shorts and a long sleeve t-shirt. It was 34 degrees here at 9. My new (then potential) boss took one look at me and said "I guess the cold doesn't bother you!"

I am SOOOO looking forward to this. I'm a people person and my job will entail taking pictures of patrons from the time they get to our office in Big Bear Lake, continuing through their ride to the zipline site and back again. I'll be getting paid salary PLUS commission, and gently trying to get them to buy the pics I've taken during their experience. I stress gently. I'm a soft-sell kind of guy.

7. In the San Bernardino National Forest.
Highway 38, not too far from Onyx Summit, which at the point that the highway goes over is 8443 feet above sea level. Our ziplines are at about 9,000 feet.

9. I would love to do that.
Nothing like that here in Georgia that I know of. Or even in the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.
