I finally turned on the heat!
I got the ancient furnace ready some time ago but resisted turning on the gas and lighting the pilot light...until today. It's 44 degrees outside and pretty chilly in the house, so I broke down!

It's a good thing, too...Weather forecast:

Rest of Today
Partly cloudy. Breezy. Scattered rain and snow showers late in the morning...then scattered snow showers in the afternoon. New snow accumulation 1 or 2 inches. Highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s. South winds 10 to 20 mph increasing to southwest 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 35 mph.

Tonight
Partly cloudy with isolated rain and snow showers. Lows in the mid to upper 20s. West winds 10 to 20 mph.

Thursday
Partly cloudy with isolated snow showers. Total snow accumulation 1 or 2 inches. Highs in the lower to mid 40s. West winds 10 to 15 mph.
