WTF is this thing?
So I'm using my wife's laptop, and there's this little sound effect, which is really annoying. Wife says it's "been ther a long time" It's basically the sound of a drip in an echo chamber.

Really annoying, seems ro be browser connected.

Anyone know whar rhis thing is?

1. You're getting email from Satan.
Check the spam filter.

but this is wifey's computer, I don't think Satan wants to mess with her. Wouldn't be prudent.

7. Yes, I do. And if you right click on the desktop...
click properties, then themes, you can change the theme to something that will change the drip to a wolf howl, or wooden shutters, or other stuff.

Or, you can just turn the sounds off somehow.

(I changed to the Da Vinci theme once, and these damn clicks when a window opened or closed drove me crazy for a while)

11. I think mine does that, too - I don't think it's coming from the speaker
I think of the sound as a heavy metal ball falling on a hard surface, it's sort of a 'plonk'. Very infrequent and unpredictable, but noticeable...
