1. Anyone one else finding this season boring?

It seems destined that the two brothers will be in the final 3 (probably with Jennifer being the third) and one of the brothers winning.

2. I dunno -- I think Kevin is as strong as either of the brothers

I'd be surprised if he's not in the final three. But there definitely seems to be a big drop after those four.

3. It's not that I think the brothers are that strong

It's that I think the producers want to continue the brothers storyline right til the end. If you watch at the end of the show, it says the producers do consult with the judges before eliminating a contestant. So it's not necessary the worst contestant they always eliminate.

5. Yeah *spoilers*

That's obviously the case in this episode. They weren't sending home Jen or Kevin because they're two of the best chefs and Mike is obnoxious but didn't screw up enough. Jen should have gone home based on just this episode, but they had to drum up problems with Laurine to avoid sending home a top tier person.

And I agree that the problem with the season is that it's been obvious from episode one that Jen, Kevin and the brothers will be the final four. I've never seen such an obvious top, middle and lower tier with chefs almost never placing outside of their tier.

They'll be gunning for Robin next. Can't really believe they've kept her around this long when the best they can say about her dessert was "it's the best thing *she's* made".

6. I'm afraid they will follow previous seasons

and keep Robin into the top 5 at the expense of say Mike isabella. That way you get an episode where Jen, Kevin, and the brothers can insult her and shoot her glares of death and create oh so much drama. It's been done before, I can see them doing it again. Unfortunately.

11. Mike is seriously annoying though too.

He brags about how he's the best chef there and he's a master of all these different kinds of cuisine but he doesn't know how to make eggs florentine or a bernaise sauce? Seriously? Cuz I'm not even a chef, and those seem pretty basic to me.

Either Mike or Robin would be a sufficiently annoying "final fifth".

4. LOL! My son knows Robin from her now-closed Seattle restaurant, Crave.

Says her personality is, how shall we say, "challenging." I loved Crave, though, until the crazy landlord made it impossible for every business in the building. So she's a hometown fave/not fave.

9. the quickfire challenge was interesting...

I've never seen them do that one before - where each of them had to cook for 10 minutes without knowing/seeing/hearing anything about what they were making. Sounds really hard.
