I swear, I'm thinking of trading my dog in for an anteater. Are they domesticated yet?

Or, perhaps better, can I train my dog to eat ants?

4. OK, I'm kidding about trading my dog in
but why won't she eat ants like anteaters do? That would really give her something to do and would help me out.

Maybe if I cover them with peanut butter or something first.

5. my dog
a blue heeler mix (I am pretty sure the mix part was not anteater) will eat ants for hours. He loves eating them, even when they are obviously biting his tongue he wont stop. He has done that as long as I have had him. I took him in off the streets, maybe when he was homeless he had to eat bugs to survive? He does eat all bugs, but not to the extent that he eats ants.

My dog, also a rescue, also part blue heeler! But not an anteater.

You are SO lucky!
